Within Il Pastaio we have a dedicated Quality Assurance team who oversee the systems and procedures in the production and manufacturing of food.
Members of the QA team are responsible for implementing, monitoring and updating our Food Safety Program, which follows the Food Standards code set by FSANZ. Il Pastaio is HACCP certified and regularly audited to maintain rigorous Quality Control. Quality is assured by:
• Ongoing critical control point monitoring
• Metal detection systems
• Approved Supplier Programs
• Recall programs and procedures in place
• Regular Micro testing
All staff are trained in the importance of food safety and the correct handling of food products. They are well informed on all hazards relating to the production of food and are also certified in food safety, which is updated annually to ensure the highest quality of food is produced.


Products produced by Il Pastaio are distributed throughout Australia. Ranging from Private, Commercial and Government sectors as well as event catering. To support our customers we have an ongoing research and development program enabling us to create new products as well as continuous quality improvement.

Il Pastaio started as a small pasta shop in Sydney’s Little Italy Leichhardt in 1984. From the beginning it was clear that what consumers of fresh pasta wanted was consistently high quality, innovative flavours, a strong relationship with their preferred pasta maker and a dependable delivery network.
As with all things natural Il Pastaio has evolved from its humble beginning to its modern HACCP accredited production facility in Sydney’s South Strathfield at the crossroads of a transport network allowing for easy access to all areas of metropolitan Sydney and further throughout Australia.
This site is along side Sydney’s largest flour mill Weston Milling providing the freshest and best durum wheat to create Il Pastaio’s exceptional pasta’s and pasta meals, add to this, 100% Australian beef supplied from the Sydney Meat Centre Strathfield, Australia’s largest and best produce from Sydney’s Flemington Fruit and Vegetable Markets and the freshest of Ricotta Cheese from the Southern Highlands of NSW. All this combined with the choicest condiments can only add up to make some of the finest pasta products on the Australian market.
Il Pastaio is proud of the efforts made by its staff to guarantee that each and every mouth full of Il Pastaio pasta is a tasty experience. This only comes about through training and determination to be the best. Il Pastaio has developed a range of products that should be able to facilitate most customers’ requirements.
